Bochinche: Restaurant, Bar & Videos. On Calle 11 between avenidas 10 and 12. This is a great Pub with some of the up beat music. Small place with 2 floors, some times gets too crowded, but even that, it’s very nice. Nice boys and girls, with a very friendly scene, you will feel all part of a big family. Live music videos can be seen in their large TV's or big proyection screen "the music you hear, the videos you'll see." Several days a week they offer Midnight shows with very good looking guys and drags. Probably best shows in Town.

CLUB OH! . Former Déjà Vu, Calle 2 between avenidas 14 and 16. Great on weekends, Fri & Sat. Open bar from 10:00 PM till 1:00 AM. Don't miss the Midnight shows. Cover with open bar at VIP lounge: $15. This is one of the largest and best known gay discos in CR. Very crowded on Saturdays and during open bar. Some times very difficult to get a beer and this probably will disappoint you. If you don’t like this, better to visit after the happy hour by 1:00AM.

Club Energy: Bar, Restaurant and Shows. Paseo Colon, right in front Hotel Ambassador. This new bar is getting a very good acceptance in the gay community in Costa Rica, basically by young guys. Cover with 6 beers $12. Thru single’s nights, Friday Drag’s shows and conquests, Sat. Disco club and Sundays Strippers nights.

Al Despiste: Bar & Tapas. Located in Zapote, right in front Mundanzas Mundiales. This is a small place, preferred by middle age guys. Quiet. Some nights offer Karaoke and shows.

Bar Tutu: Located in Manuel Antonio Beach (Quepos), on the Top Terrace of Casitas Eclipse Hotel. This is the most popular gay bar in the area and where you will find one of the best ambiances. Open every night. Best time to visit weekends, between 9-12 midnight. Normally this is the starting point for party. After it, people move to BambooJam and other popular bars in the area.

Pucho's Bar. on Calle 11 and Avenida 8. An Icon of the gay life in Costa Rica. Best day of the week: Tuesdays. Weekends open bar from 9:00 PM till 1:00 AM. Cover: $10. Drag shows every night and nude strippers. There is a Dark room on the back side of the place.

OUTDOOR CLUBS:

Acropolis: Bar, Restaurant and Country Club located one hour from San Jose, in El Rosario de Naranjo. (Take the Panamerican highway on route to the Pacific Coast. Just before to cross the Naranjo Toll, turn to your left, where is the gas station. Follow the secondary road for about 15 minutes till you get to the place). Very nice outdoor camp with swimming pool, green areas, small sauna, bar and restaurant and camping areas. Open on Sundays. Special events the first Sunday of every month. Casa Vieja: Bar, Restaurant & Café. Located in Alajuela Province, behind the International Mall. A nice place for have dinner or enjoy a beer in an old typical house of Costa Rica.
