This is a great tour that you can take from our capital City San Jose Costa Rica. Come with us and enjoy our exclusive and unique tour with a professional naturalist tour guide, who will explain you the most important aspects of the Central Pacific Coast and will show you the rich wildlife of this fascinating region.

Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or minibus. After 90 minutes’ drive from San Jose, you will arrive to Carara National Park.

Upon arrival to the park, get ready for a nature walk with your naturalist tour guide.

The Carara Carara National Park, which in indigenous Huetar language means “River of lizards”, has the only transition forest in Central Pacific, resulting in diversity of flora and fauna, where converge typical species of dry and humid forests.

This National Park is a worldwide known birding destination as it has very diverse birdlife, where stands out the Scarlet Macaw, a species that is in danger of extinction, being the second largest species of parrots of Costa Rica.

The nature walk is easy and along a flat trail. This nature walk last about 90 minutes.

After your rainforest experience, continue the journey to Tarcoles River. Famous for its large American Crocodiles, the Tarcoles River forms the Northern border of Carara Biological Reserve on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The Tarcoles River is home to one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the wild and they are very easy to admire during our one-hour boat ride. Besides crocodiles, many aquatic bird species, monkeys & scarlet macaws are easy to see.

Continuing our tour, you will visit El Jardin Souvenir Store & Restaurant. This is a beautiful souvenir’s store and Art Gallery with excellent products. At this place, free time is allowed for shopping and have lunch at the restaurant, where delicious typical Costa Rican food will be served.

After this great safari, return to your hotel in San Jose.
