Day by Day Itinerary.

Day 1. WELCOME TO COSTA RICA.  Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Upon arrival at the San Jose airport, you will be met by one of our representatives how will explain your itinerary, answer any questions and provide you with a package of vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to Hotel Radisson and free time at leisure.

Day 2. TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK (B, L, D) Our exclusive journey to Tortuguero from San Jose is an amazing experience where you will enjoy a pleasant bus transfer to Guapiles Town. Along the way, admire the pristine rainforest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park and Biosphere Reserve declared by UNESCO in 1988. Crystal clear rivers and beautiful waterfalls will be part of the landscape that you can enjoy during this short transfer. Once in Guapiles Town, a stop will be made to enjoy a delicious typical breakfast. Continuing the journey through the lower parts of the Costa Rican Caribbean, crossing extensive plantations of bananas, pineapple, cocoa and other agricultural products common in the area, we will reach Caño Blanco, an area of rivers and lagoons where a boat awaits us and will take us to deeper in the jungle and our final destination Tortuguero.

The boat trip will take about 90 minutes and it will be a one-in-a lifetime experience surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna. Upon arrival to Pachira Lodge, enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch. After you get your room, get comfortable for explore the area and visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.

Day 3. TORTUGUERO (B, L, D). Discover Costa Rican flavors as you enjoy breakfast at PACHIRA LODGE.  Get ready to hike Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well-known Tortuguero Canals and have the experience of your life in this unique paradise of magnificent flora and fauna. After the tour, Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. During the afternoon, take your time to enjoy our private trails, ride a boat through the canals or just relax. Dinner at the hotel. OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: Walk on the beach and admire the green turtles nesting (July through September).

Day 4. TORTUGUERO – ARENAL (B, L).  After breakfast, hotel check out and transfer to our next destination. On the middle of the way and after lunch, you will meet your shuttle bus transportation and proceed overland to Arenal, arriving at our accommodation for the next two nights. Our comfortable Hotel Arenal Paraiso offers panoramic views of Arenal Volcano.

Day 5. FREE STYLE DAY IN ARENAL (B) Customize your vacation with the included adventure of your choice. Please select one. This option will be added to your final itinerary.

Day 6.  MONTEVERDE BY VAN – BOAT – VAN (B). After breakfast, you will start the trip to the next destination: Monteverde. The van and boat trip is not a usual tour but feels like one. It is actually an alternative transportation method if you want to quickly travel from Arenal to Monteverde or backwards. This trip starts in La Fortuna and after a short jeep trajectory you will get to the Arenal Lake where a boat will take you to Chiquito River. From the boat you will be able to admire beautiful scenarios including the impressive view of the Arenal Volcano. In Chiquito River a jeep will take you to Monteverde. This transportation service saves time and it is very pleasant. Once at Monteverde, drop off at Hotel El Establo Free time.

Day 7.  FREESTAYLE DAY IN MONTEVERDE. (B). Customize your vacation with the included adventure of your choice. Please select one. This option will be added to your final itinerary.

Day 8.  MONTEVERDE – MANUEL ANTONIO (B). During the morning, land transfer to Manuel Antonio National Park on the Central Pacific Coast. Upon arrival, check in at Hotel Costa Verde and free time for enjoy the swimming pool or visit the beach.

Day 9.  FREESTAYLE DAY IN MANUEL ANTONIO. (B). Customize your vacation with the included adventure of your choice. Please select one. This option will be added to your final itinerary. Note: Some options are half day, others full day with lunch included.

Day 11.  MANUEL ANTONIO – SAN JOSE (B). During the morning, a great opportunity for explore the surroundings on your own and enjoy the beach. After lunch, land transfer to San Jose. Overnight at Hotel Radisson. Free time.

Day 12. TRANSFER OUT. (B)  Transfer to the International Airport accordingly with your scheduled flight and Goodbye.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: The shuttle bus is a service where a maximum of 6-7 passengers travel in the same vehicle and to the same destination. By this way, we reduce the price of the transfer service and can arrange more economical packages. The service is very good, door to door, with recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

TRAVEL DATES: You select the best date for you. All our options are available all year around and we just need your travel dates in order to check the hotel’s availability and arrange it.

HOW BIG THE GROUPS ARE: Our vacations are operated in an independent basis and you will not travel as part of a group unless you are part of a group. However, during the transfers and Daily Tours you will travel with other tourist we might have for that particular activity or service.

In case you want to make some changes in any program and get a new quotation, please send an email to info@greenwaytours.com  with information about your desired vacation, number of participants, arrival dates, name of the package you are interested on and any other special requirements. CAN I CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE: Yes, you can use our packages as a base and make any change on it. We are very flexible. If these packages do not fit on your desired vacation, just send an email to us and we can prepare a new option for you.

AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED: All our options include the Land Portion only. Airfare must be on your own and indicate your arrival and departure dates to us in order to arrange the hotel’s bookings.

Cancellation Policy: If cancellation is made 30 days or more prior to the scheduled trip, the deposit will be refunded. If cancellation is made 30-16 days, the entire 50% deposit is forfeited. If cancellation is made 14-1 days before scheduled trip, total deposit is forfeited.
