Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or minibus. Your guide will point out many sights of interest including coffee plantations, sugar cane and citrus plantations, diverse fruit stands and rural farming communities. You will be heading Rio Oro de Santa Ana, about 30 minutes’ drive from San Jose. Upon arrival to the beautiful Hacienda La chimba you will meet your local tour guide who will show you the beauty of this amazing region.

Discover the step-by-step process of seed germination to the first crop of our plants. There you will observe and be explained the development process of the plant up to the point of recollection of the ripe grain. You will also learn about the history of La Chimba, its owners, the production and varieties of plants, the geography of the area and the traditional ways of cultivating the grain. The tour is interactive, and our customers will be able to experience at first hand all the different process involve in the coffee industry. The tour takes us to Costa Rica in the 1920s. Starting at La Casa de Chepita with a collection of photographs, furniture and other implements that were exclusively for daily use by the owners of the coffee farms. We continue along a paved path that takes us to the Puente de los Deseos, enjoying the beautiful gardens that surround our chapel which is inspired by the constructions of the 16th century. From there we will observe a replica of Our Lady of the Los Angeles – Virgin Maria, adorned by our beautiful coffee plantations. Arriving at El Barrio, where the workers of the coffee plantations lived, we will have a tasting of our delicious coffee Mi Momento, the famous coffee brand of this company.

After the tour, free time for explore a little bit this beautiful property, have an ice cream, a cup of coffee or a typical Costa Rican lunch before to make the way back to your hotel.
