Day by Day Itinerary.

 

Day 1. ARRIVE IN SAN JOSE.  Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Upon arrival at the San Jose airport, you will be met by one of our representatives how will explain your itinerary, answer any questions and provide you with a package of vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to Hotel Radisson and free time at leisure.

 

Day 2.  PRIVATE TOUR ARENAL VOLCANO, FORTUNA WATERFALL & BALDI HOT SPRINGS. (B, L). Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or minibus. Your guide will point out many sights of interest including coffee plantations, sugar cane and citrus plantations, diverse fruit stands and rural farming communities. You will be heading Fortuna Town, about 2 hours’ drive from San Jose. Once in Fortuna you will visit Fortuna Waterfall.

 

Located in the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a National Park that attracts thousands and thousands of tourists due to its beauty and recent past volcanic activity. Back in the 80´s the volcano was very active, but now has reduced its activity and we could say that it has entered a period of calm. However, the beauty of the Volcano and surroundings are just spectacular. Once in La Fortuna Town, a sightseeing tour will show you the highlights of the area and its rich diversity of tourist attractions, ecosystems, the lake, culture, customs & traditions of this emblematic town of Costa Rica.

 

The La Fortuna Waterfall is one of the best things to see when you come to the Arenal Area! You will love the hike down to this waterfall near the town of La Fortuna because you can see all the natural beauty of the rainforest as well as the birds and wildlife that live there. Once you arrive to the La Fortuna Waterfall, prepare to be blown away by the beauty of this impressive waterfall near the Arenal Volcano! You will also be able to swim and take amazing photos! This popular attraction on TripAdvisor’s “Top Things to do in La Fortuna” is great for the whole family.

 

Later, you will relax in one of the best thermal water places in the area: Baldi Hot Springs. At Baldi Hot Springs you will find an endless dreamed stay, where the natural environment, colorful natural gardens, therapeutic waters, pure air and our care combine on a perfect state; the dream came true. The unique frame where your experience turns into the most unforgettable one. In here you will enjoy multiple thermal pools, a giant stem room, luxury pool bars, Giant waterslides, relaxing areas and much more.

 

Upon arrival to Baldi Hot Springs, enjoy a delicious Buffet Lunch before to jump into the Thermal Pools. Lockers and Towels are included in our tours. At this paradise you will stay till 4:00 PM. After the hot springs transfer to Hotel Arenal Paraiso or similar in Fortuna Town. Dinner on your own.

 

Day 3. FREE STYLE DAY IN ARENAL (B) Customize your vacation with the included adventure of your choice. Please select one. This option will be added to your final itinerary.

Day 4. TRANSFER TO GUANACASTE REGION (B) Breakfast at the hotel. By Midafternoon, transfer to Guanacaste province. Upon arrival, check in at Hotel Blue River Resort.

Day 5. BLUE RIVER HOT SPRINGS & DINOSAUR´S PARK TOUR. (B).

 

Watch dinosaurs come alive!

 

Everyone gets up close and personal at Dino Park in anticipation of experiencing Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Enter our rainforest with a blue river on the north side of the national park, Rincon de la Vieja near Blue River Resort & Hot Springs. Visiting these 26 life-size moving behemoths will make imaginations come alive.

 

Following the sounds of the dinosaur’s bellowing roars, groans and squawks is also an education in the living ‘jungle-classroom’. Search out and learn about the dinosaurs by carefully following a path that leads to surprises at every turn. However, don’t wander off the marked paths! They may be hungry.

 

Explorers will walk along clearly marked scenic trails at a leisurely pace for adults and children alike. Imagine taking a ‘selfie’ with a life-size dinosaur brandishing its teeth next to your ear.

 

Take as many photos as you like.

 

After this morning tour, have lunch at the Resort and relax during the afternoon at the hot springs, or take an extra tour.

 

Day 6. MORNING TOUR IN BLUE RIVER AND TRANSFER TO POTRERO BEACH (B) During the morning, customize your vacation with the included adventure of your choice. Please select one. This option will be added to your final itinerary.

 

– Horseback Riding to the Waterfall: Set out on horseback like a Sabanero (Costa Rica cowboy). In Guanacaste natural hot springs, blue rivers and rainforest can only be found here on the north side of the volcano, Rincon de la Vieja. The Grand Waterfalls are a sight to behold. Enter a lush rainforest to experience a truly spectacular blue river and grand waterfalls. Enjoy a dip by the Grand Waterfall and a hike through the jungle.

 

– Visit The Waterfall by Truck: In Guanacaste natural hot springs, blue rivers and rainforest can only be found here on the north side of the volcano, Rincon de la Vieja. The Grand Waterfalls are a sight to behold. Enter a lush rainforest to experience a truly spectacular blue river and grand waterfalls. – Tubing in Blue River: One of the most exciting ways to go down a river is lying on a rubber inner tube, winding around bends, and passing through calm water, white water and adrenaline pumping chutes. Our Costa Rica water tubing adventure is fun for all adults looking for excitement and we consider it Costa Rica’s premier tubing tour. Rocks tower out of the water but are blocked by the tube like a bumper car, sending you in another direction, spinning forward or backward. The lush rainforest forms a picturesque periphery, through canyons and thick greenery. In fact, the sound of blue water rushing past is quiet compared to the howler monkeys, insects and birds.The tubing takes place along the famous blue-water river, Rio Azul in the lush rainforest, depending upon the season. The drop-off point is a short distance from Blue River Resort & Hot Springs and lasts 2 1/5 hours. Prepare for an unforgettable water tubing experience that is pure pleasure.

 

– Rainforest Hiking Adventure Tour: From Blue River Resort & Hot Spring we drive less than 15-minutes up the mountain to a special, authentic Costa Rica farmhouse bordering Rincon de la Vieja National Park where we are welcomed by the Viales family. From here our tour commences as we set off hiking through the farm into the jungle, entering secondary forests, primary forests, past pristine waterfalls and rivers. We’ll observe the ecological diversity that abounds here on the northern slope of Rincón de la Vieja National Park, with an incredible views and a variety of flora and fauna. Animals include howler monkeys, sloths, tapirs, jaguars and many colorful birds. A goal of your guided tour is to form a special appreciation for nature and the many wonders inside Rincon de la Vieja’s north (Caribbean) rain forest. Your hike ends back at the Vialle family’s farmhouse, for a well-earned Tico snack. Enjoy refreshments and sample cheese and corn-based tortillas, all handmade and farm fresh.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: The shuttle bus is a service where a maximum of 6-7 passengers travel in the same vehicle and to the same destination. By this way, we reduce the price of the transfer service and can arrange more economical packages. The service is very good, door to door, with recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

 

DEPARTURE DATES: All our options are available all year around and we just need your travel dates in order to check the hotel’s availability and arrange it.

 

HOW BIG THE GROUPS ARE: Our vacations are operated in an independent basis and you will not travel as part of a group unless you are part of a group. However, during the transfers and Daily Tours you will travel with other tourist we might have for that particular activity or service.

 

HOW TO RESERVE THIS PACKAGE: Please send an email to info@greenwaytours.com with as much as information you can about your desired vacation, number of participants, arrival dates, name of the package you are interested on and any other special requirements. Once you receive our confirmation form, a 20% deposit is due. Full payment due 60 days prior to departure.

 

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE: Yes, you can use our packages as a base and make any change on it. We are very flexible. If these packages do not fit on your desired vacation, just send an email to us and we can prepare a new option for you.

 

AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED: All our options includes the Land Portion only. Airfare must be on your own and indicate your arrival and departure dates to us in order to arrange the hotel’s bookings.
