BRIEF DESCRIPTION

• DAY 1: Welcome to Costa Rica. Meet & Greet at San José Airport and transfer to your hotel.

• DAY 2: Pick-up at your hotel. Meet & greet with our tour guide. Transfer by land and boat to Tortuguero National Park. Check-in at Pachira Lodge. Tour of Tortuguero Town.

• DAY 3: Breakfast at the lodge. Morning tour to Tortuguero National Park along the natural canals with a naturalist tour guide. Afternoon free time.

• DAY 4: Breakfast at the lodge. Hotel check-out and transfer to Arenal by boat and bus. Mid-afternoon arrival in Arenal and hotel check-in.

• DAY 5: Time to explore the Arenal Volcano area and enjoy the day with your choice of included tour (select 1 option from the list).

• DAY 6: Enjoy a Transfer-Tour to Monteverde across Lake Arenal by van and boat. Upon arrival in Monteverde, check-in at your hotel and enjoy free time to explore the area on your own.

• DAY 7: Time to explore the Monteverde area and enjoy the day with your choice of included tour (select 1 option from the list).

• DAY 8: Enjoy a pleasant, scenic drive to San José. Check-in at your hotel upon arrival and enjoy free time to discover the city on your own.

• DAY 9: Transfer to the International Airport. Time to say goodbye. Have a safe and pleasant journey home!

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1: WELCOME TO COSTA RICA

Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Upon arrival at the San José airport, you will be met by one of our representatives who will explain your itinerary, answer any questions, and provide you with a welcome package containing vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time at leisure.

DAY 2: SAN JOSÉ – TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK (B, L, D)

Our exclusive journey to Tortuguero from San José begins with a pleasant bus transfer to Guápiles Town. Along the way, admire the pristine rainforest of Braulio Carrillo National Park, a Biosphere Reserve declared by UNESCO in 1988. Crystal-clear rivers and beautiful waterfalls frame the landscape during this scenic drive.

Once in Guápiles Town, we will stop to enjoy a delicious typical breakfast. Continuing through the lowlands of the Costa Rican Caribbean—passing extensive plantations of bananas, pineapples, cocoa, and other local crops—we will reach Caño Blanco. Here, a boat awaits to take us deeper into the jungle toward our final destination: Tortuguero.

The 90-minute boat trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience surrounded by a rich variety of flora and fauna. Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail and a delicious lunch. After checking into your room, get comfortable before heading out to explore the area, the beach, and the picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon returning to the lodge.

DAY 3: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK (B, L, D)

Discover Costa Rican flavors as you enjoy breakfast at your lodge. Get ready to navigate the famous Tortuguero Canals and experience this unique paradise of magnificent wildlife firsthand.

After the tour, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. During the afternoon, take time to explore our private trails, ride a kayak through the canals, or simply relax. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

• OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: Walk along the beach to observe green sea turtles nesting (available July through September).

DAY 4: TORTUGUERO – ARENAL (B, L)

Breakfast at the lodge followed by departure to Arenal Volcano by boat and bus. Halfway through the journey—and after lunch—you will meet your transport (shuttle or private driver) and proceed overland to Arenal. Upon arrival in La Fortuna Town, home of the majestic Arenal Volcano, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 6: ARENAL TO MONTEVERDE (VAN – BOAT – VAN) (B)

After breakfast, depart for your next destination: Monteverde. This Van-Boat-Van transfer feels like an excursion in itself! It is the most scenic and efficient way to travel between Arenal and Monteverde.

Starting from La Fortuna, a short van ride brings you to Lake Arenal, where a boat will cross the lake to the Chiquito River. From the boat, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and the impressive Arenal Volcano. At the Chiquito River, another van will pick you up and take you up into Monteverde. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy free time at leisure.

DEPOSIT AND FINAL PAYMENTS: Once you confirm your package selection, we will send a confirmation form and request a 20% deposit. The Balance must be paid 45 days before the arrival date.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: The shuttle bus is a service where a maximum of 6-7 passengers travel in the same vehicle and to the same destination. By this way, we reduce the price of the transfer service and can arrange more economical packages. The service is very good, door to door, with recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

PRIVATE TRANSFERS: Exclusive VIP service. Door to Door in deluxe Mini van or vehicle. Recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

TRAVEL DATES: You select the best date for you. All our options are available all year around and we just need your travel dates in order to check the hotel’s availability and arrange it.

HOW BIG THE GROUPS ARE: Our vacations are operated in an independent basis and you will not travel as part of a group unless you are part of a group. However, during the transfers and Daily Tours you will travel with other tourist we might have for that particular activity or service.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE: Yes, you can use our packages as a base and make any change on it. We are very flexible. If these packages do not fit on your desired vacation, just send an email to us and we can prepare a new option for you.

AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED: All our options include the Land Portion only. Airfare must be on your own and indicate your arrival and departure dates to us in order to arrange the hotel’s bookings.
