Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or minibus. After 90 minutes’ drive from San Jose, you will arrive to Villa Lapas Eco Hotel and Private Reserve.
Upon arrival to our beautiful property, you will have some free time for use restrooms and explore the surroundings before to begging the rainforest nature walk and enjoy crossing the Hanging Bridges. Experience the beauty of the rainforest through our Villa Lapas Sky Way walking tour 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in length, and five suspended bridges at more than 180 feet above the ground. Each of these bridges is an astonishing 300 feet length, crossing through the very heart of the tropical rainforest. This all-ages tour lets you observe the primary and secondary rainforest vegetation. Make yourself one with the jungle. Keep your eyes open to see the numerous bird species, mammals and other varied fauna that call this forest home.
The nature walk last about one hour and it includes some areas with some steeps, uneven terrain, ups and downs.
After your rainforest experience, enjoy complementary tropical fresh fruits and Ice Tea before to continue our journey to Tarcoles River. Famous for its large American Crocodiles, the Tarcoles River forms the Northern border of Carara Biological Reserve on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The Tarcoles River is home to one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the wild and they are very easy to admire during our one-hour boat ride. Besides crocodiles, many aquatic bird species, monkeys & scarlet macaws are easy to see.
Continuing our tour, you will visit El Jardin Souvenir Store & Restaurant. This is a beautiful souvenir’s store and Art Gallery with excellent products. At this place, free time is allowed for shopping and have lunch at the restaurant, where delicious typical Costa Rican food will be served.
After this great safari, return to your hotel in San Jose.

It showed us a glimpse of Costa Rica – the driver Eugenio and the guide Luis were superb compared to many of the guides we experienced in Central America, Luis was very knowledgeable, informative and clear in his explanations

This was a great tour!
Our guide Michel picked us up right at the hotel. He was very knowledgeable and answered many questions. The walk was good. Some birds but no animals sadly. Great fresh fruit snack at a resort. Then off the river cruise. Well done. We saw lots of birds and were helped to identify them as well as several VERY large crocodiles. We were returned to the hotel in time.
