We had an interesting and informative tour and were very happy with the arrangements. We were greeted by our tour guide just outside the port and the tour departed on time. We followed the proposed itinerary and feel that we learned a lot about many aspects of the Costa Rican culture, economy and daily life. Our guide and driver were flexible in little ways that made the day most enjoyable and fun for the whole group. We would definitely recommend this tour.

We booked this tour outside our cruise ship excursions. I think we saved money, but the real point is that the tour was small, personal and easy going. The guide, whose name was (I think) Stephen, was terrific. Personable, informative, in love with the countryside, full of jokes, and very, very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. We could not be more pleased with our choice and would recommend anyone coming off a cruise ship in Lemon (not the most attractive town) to book a trip into the countryside with Greenway. The boat ride on the canal was the best part with lots of sloths in the trees and birds flying about.

We were on P&O Ventura and had booked this excursion before we left home as it encompassed everything we wanted to see and the ship hadn’t got anything like it.
The tour was entitled “6 tours in 1”, but the three main things were: a short city tour, the Tortuguero Canals and the Cahuita National Park (rainforest and beach). There were just four in the group – my husband, a lady who was in a wheelchair and her son, as well as myself.
The tour surpassed anything we could have hoped for and this was made possible by our guide, Enrico. If he or the driver saw anything whilst we were driving along, they would stop and explain what they had seen so that we could take photographs, e.g. animals, bananas with blue bags, etc. On the canals, he pointed out sloths, egrets, yellow-crowned night herons and a boat-billed heron. When we got down to Cahuita, a path had been put down through the rainforest, but it wasn’t the easiest for a wheelchair, so Enrico and her son managed it between them. There were racoons that came off the beach and played round us and then there were the white-faced Capuchun monkeys. At first, we could just hear them screeching in the trees, but then Enrico started calling to them and down they came to eat the fruit he had brought with him. It was a magical experience. On the way back to the coach, we saw a beautiful bright blue butterfly, which I gather we were lucky to see. Enrico certainly made the place come alive and he had such an affinity with the animals.
