Upon arrival to our beautiful property, you will have some free time for use restrooms and explore the surroundings before to begging the rain forest nature walk and enjoy crossing the Hanging Bridges. Experience the beauty of the rainforest through our Villa Lapas Sky Way walking tour 1.5 miles (2.5 km) in length, and five suspended bridges at more than 180 feet above the ground. Each of these bridges is an astonishing 300 feet length, crossing through the very heart of the tropical rainforest. This all-ages tour lets you observe the primary and secondary rainforest vegetation. Make yourself one with the jungle. Keep your eyes open to see the numerous bird species, mammals and other varied fauna that call this forest home. The nature walk last about one hour and it includes some areas with some steps, uneven terrain, ups and downs.
After enjoy a sample of a tropical ecosystem, enjoy complementary tropical fresh fruits and Ice Tea before to continue our journey to Tarcoles River. Famous for its large American Crocodiles, the Tarcoles River forms the Northern border of Carara Biological Reserve on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The Tarcoles River is home to one of the world’s largest crocodile populations in the wild and they are very easy to admire during our one-hour boat tour. Besides crocodiles, many aquatic bird species, monkeys & scarlet macaws are easy to see.
After the tour, return to the pier. Upon arrival, you can decide to stay in the city or make your way back directly to the ship. For all those interested in walking along the boulevards, the pier is located right at the city at a very short distance from your ship. So, no worries for an easy return. All our Tours from Puntarenas are operated accordingly with the ships arrivals and departure times.
Notes: This tour require good physical conditions. It is not recommended for senior with low or limited mobility. Trail distance is 1 mile under some difficult tropical conditions. If you are not able to walk under these conditions, we recommend to take the Rainforest Wagon Tour. It is an easy way to visit the rainforest.
All our tours have 8:00 AM as departure time. However, if your ship arrives at 8:00 AM, we will move the Pick Up time to 9:00 AM. For ships arriving late, we will adjust and confirm by email.

A great day!
My husband and I booked this tour before leaving on a cruise. Details of how and when to get to the pick-up point were provided by email. We had a small tour bus of about 15 people, and our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and accommodating. As well, the price was reasonable.
The Skywalk is mostly downhill and not a hard walk but is over uneven terrain so might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Birds and crocodiles were observed on the river. Bottled water was provided, but it is good to bring your own as well as snacks though we did stop for a fruit break. As well, we had an opportunity to shop for souvenirs and coffee. Although we had been a bit worried about doing a non-cruise affiliated tour, we were very glad we did. Overall, a great tour and day.

Nice Experience
this combination tour gave a nice variety to exploring the land of Costa Rica. The bridges were a novel way of experiencing the rain forest. While we heard toucans, no birds or wildlife were seen. We saw several large crocodiles on the river. The guides knew exactly where to find them and even hand fed one. We were also able to see the crocs next to our boat.

A Fantastic Experience
What an experience, not only walking through the canopy high up in the trees but an adventure with crocodiles. A party of four of us were met directly at our cruise ship and therefor no searching for the operator, only 50 metres from the the ship our minibus was awaiting. This began a great experience which we all really enjoyed. Our guide was a mind of information as we traversed the forest for about 90 minutes before having a rest at a local hotel before our next adventure with crocodiles. This lasted about 80 minutes and to me was the highlight of our tour. The captain of the ship even went ashore and fed these wild crocodile with chicken and even had then take the food from his hand; something i would not attempt.
Our guide for the day was just brilliant he could not have been better;unfortunately I am unable to remember his name but I attach his photo! Thank you for the tour it was excellent.
