Your breath-taking, adventure begins with an early pickup directly from your San Jose hotel and a relaxing drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned private transportation and a professional naturalist tour guide.
The driving distance from San Jose to Hacienda Pozo Azul in La Virgen de Sarapiqui will take about 90 minutes. Along the way, enjoy the beauty of the second largest National Park in Costa Rica: The Braulio Carrillo. The highway divides the park into 2 big sections, so, you can enjoy a pristine rainforest with a great scenery view. Once in the Caribbean slope, learn about the local culture, the architecture of the Caribbean, the most important crops including bananas, cassava, pineapple, hart of palm, cashews, sugar cane and more.
Sarapiqui is the name of the river, and it is the most important tourist attraction in the region. In the Upper part, the river is perfect for the practice of the Whitewater Rafting. In the Lower Part, boat tours, transfers and fishing are important economic activities.

The best tour ever!
Our tour guides were knowledgeable, humorous, and accommodating. Not only did they take us to the scheduled Sarapiqui Nature Preserve and ziplining, they added a tour of the banana plantation because we had some extra time. We could not believe how much information and how many interesting sites and great experiences we had with Greenway Tours. Plus, the price was much better than book the 2 tours separated. It was great!

Great day!
We absolutely loved our white water rafting experience. None of us had done it before and were a little bit apprehensive but we needn’t have worried! The staff were great fun and very entertaining! They certainly knew the river well and were very experienced. We stopped halfway to jump off the riverbank into the water and then we were fed the most delicious pineapple! After it, we enjoy the zipline canopy tour. it was fantastic as well. Would thoroughly recommend. Our rafting experience was followed by a lovely meal in the restaurant. Thank you all for a great time! Amazing memories!
