DAY 1. Welcome to Costa Rica. Meet & Great at San Jose Airport and transfer to hotel.

DAY 2. Private Tour to Poas Volcano & La Paz Waterfalls Gardens.

DAY 3. Pacuare Whitewater Rafting full day tour with lunch with drop off at La Fortuna.

DAY 4. Enjoy a nature walk at Arenal Hanging Bridges & Rainforest with a professional naturalist tour guide and transportation from your hotel.

DAY 5. Time to explore Arenal area and enjoy the day with the selected tour of your preference included in your package. You select 1 tour from a list of options.

DAY 6. Enjoy a pleasant and sightseeing transfer to Playa Potrero. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Free time for enjoy the hotel and surroundings.

DAY 7. Free day for enjoy the beach, explore the town on your own or enjoy the hotel´s swimming pool.

DAY 8. Free day for enjoy the beach, explore the town on your own or enjoy the hotel´s swimming pool.

DAY 9. Enjoy a pleasant and sightseeing drive to San Jose. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Free time for discover the city on your own.

DAY 10. Transfers to International Airport. Time to say goodbye. Have a safe and pleasant journey back to home.

Day by Day Itinerary.

Day 1. WELCOME TO COSTA RICA. Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Upon arrival at the San Jose airport, you will be met by one of our representatives how will explain your itinerary, answer any questions and provide you with a package of vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to hotel and free time at leisure.

Day 2. PRIVATE TOUR TO POAS VOLCANO AND LA PAZ WATERFALLS. (B, L). This is a great tour that you can take from our capital City San Jose Costa Rica. Come with us and enjoy our exclusive and unique tour with a professional naturalist tour guide. Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or Van.

On the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the countryside with multiple Dairy Farms, Tropical Flowers Nurseries, Strawberries Plantations, Cheese Factories, picturesque souvenir stores and small local vendors. Taste the local flavors and give yourself a chance to try a Prestiño, a very traditional tin pastry cover with a special typical syrup made in the sugar mills.

Once at the Poas Volcano National Park, the visit to the crater will be in small groups accompanied with a park ranger and for only 30 minutes per group for security reasons. Poas is an active volcano, that has erupted 40 times since 1828. It has an elevation of 2.708 meter above sea level (8.885 feet). There are two crater lakes near the summit. The northern lake is known as the Laguna Caliente (“hot lagoon”) and is located at a height of 2,300 m in a crater approximately 1.7 km wide and 290–300 m deep. It is one of the world’s most acidic lakes and possible the largest crater in the world. Lake Botos, the southern lake, fills an inactive crater, which last erupted in 7500 BC. It is cold and clear, and is surrounded by a cloud forest within the National Park boundaries.

Poas Volcano National Park is the most visited one by locals and international tourist from all over the world.

Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfalls Gardens. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is the #1 Most Visited Privately Owned Ecological Attraction in Costa Rica featuring the best hiking near San José, the most famous waterfalls in Costa Rica, rescued wildlife preserve with over 100 species of animals, and an environmental education program.

With the fine attention and explanations of our naturalist tour guide, enjoy: Five waterfalls, cloud forest and rain forest, safe hiking trails, aviary with numerous species of birds, toucan feeding, insect exhibit, butterfly observatory, capuchin (white-faced) monkeys, black-handed spider monkeys, hummingbird garden with 26 documented species, hummingbird hand feeding in the mornings and afternoons, serpentarium (snake exhibit), jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, traditional typical house with petting zoo and ox cart, ranarium (frog exhibit), orchid exhibit, heliconia exhibit.  All these offered at one place, makes us the best eco park in Costa Rica.

Our tour includes a delicious Buffet Lunch. It includes multiple selections of Traditional Costa Rican Dishes, Full Salad Bar, Pizza, Garlic Bread, French Fries, Fresh Fruits, Rice Pudding and unlimited Fresh Fruit Juice, Coffee and Tea.

After finishing all these unique Eco Attractions, and by the middle of the afternoon, return to your hotel in San Jose.

Day 3. PACUARE RAFTING TOUR. (B, L). Rafting on the Pacuare River – rated one of the top rivers in the world – is an amazing Costa Rica Day trip. You’ll raft through incredible rainforest on 19 miles of Class III-IV whitewater. Cascading waterfalls, lush forest, exotic plants, birds and other animals, and exciting rapids make this a tropical adventure packed with rich experiences that you’ll remember forever.

This trip gives you the ultimate blend of wilderness exposure and excitement. Rio Pacuare is world famous for its pristine beauty. Being a true river gorge it is flanked by step green walls. Waterfall’s cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly over your head. The wildlife is abundant, with sloths, toucans, parrots, coatis, butterflies, and colorful frogs being common sights. The white water is equally exciting; the number of rapids covered on this outstanding descend makes it a most memorable river trip. During the descent we will stop to enjoy a buffet style lunch at the most beautiful beach on the river. We finish in Siquirres at our own private Exploration Center, where you can take a shower, change, have a cold beverage, enjoy pictures of your trip, and reflect with your new friends about the great adventure you just shared.

After the tour, transfer to Arenal Volcano area and Fortuna Town. Upon arrival, hotel check in and free time for enjoy the beautiful nightlife of La Fortuna.

Day 4. ARENAL VOLCANO HANGING BRIDGES TOUR. (B) Located in the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a National Park that attracts thousands and thousands of tourists due to its beauty and recent past volcanic activity. Back in the 80´s the volcano was very active, but now has reduced its activity and we could say that it has entered a period of calm. However, the beauty of the Volcano and surroundings are just spectacular.

During the morning, your naturalist tour guide will pick you up at the hotel for a short transfer to Mistico Park. At Mistico Park and Hanging Bridges, enjoy travelling the forest comfortably in our revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife. In front of the majestic Arenal Volcano you can admire its beauty and the wonderful forest that surrounds it, as well as a reserve populated with wildlife in their natural habitat that will allow you an encounter with the roots of the human species. Walk across 10 regular bridges and 6 Hanging Bridges and gaze at 18 meters (60 feet) waterfall within a comfortable non-slippery trail without steps and acquire a once in a lifetime bracing adventure.

After the nature walk tour, transfer back to your hotel and free time.

Day 6.   PLAYA POTRERO GUANACASTE. (B). By mid-morning, land transfer to Playa Potrero in Golfo de Papagayo, one of the most beautiful places of Costa Rica. Check in at Hotel Nammbu with afternoon at leisure.

Day 7 & 8. PLAYA POTRERO GUANACASTE. Free time for enjoy the hotel facilities, relax or explore the surroundings with a tour.

Day 9. TRANSFER TO SAN JOSE (B) During the morning, land transfer to San Jose. Upon arrival hotel check in and free time.

Day 10. TRANSFER OUT. (B) According with you flight reservation, transfer to the International Airport and goodbye.

HOW TO RESERVE THIS PACKAGE: Please send an email to info@greenwaytours.com indicating: Number of passengers adults, children and ages, travel dates and selected category (Silver, Gold or Platinum)

DEPOSIT AND FINAL PAYMENTS: Once you confirm your package selection, we will send a confirmation form and request a 20% deposit. The Balance must be paid 45 days before the arrival date.

SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE: The shuttle bus is a service where a maximum of 6-7 passengers travel in the same vehicle and to the same destination. By this way, we reduce the price of the transfer service and can arrange more economical packages. The service is very good, door to door, with recent model vehicles, full insured and A/C.

TRAVEL DATES: You select the best date for you. All our options are available all year around and we just need your travel dates in order to check the hotel’s availability and arrange it.

HOW BIG THE GROUPS ARE: Our vacations are operated in an independent basis and you will not travel as part of a group unless you are part of a group. However, during the transfers and Daily Tours you will travel with other tourist we might have for that particular activity or service.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A PACKAGE: Yes, you can use our packages as a base and make any change on it. We are very flexible. If these packages do not fit on your desired vacation, just send an email to us and we can prepare a new option for you.

AIRFARE IS NOT INCLUDED: All our options include the Land Portion only. Airfare must be on your own and indicate your arrival and departure dates to us in order to arrange the hotel’s bookings.
