DAY 1. Welcome to Costa Rica. Meet & Great at San Jose Airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2. Private tour to Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfalls Gardens

Day 4. Private tour to Tortuguero National Park.

Day 5. Shared tour to Tortuga Island.

DAY 6. Transfer to International Airport. Time to say goodbye. Have a safe and pleasant journey back to home.

Day by Day Itinerary.

Day 1. WELCOME TO COSTA RICA. Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Upon arrival at the San Jose airport, you will be met by one of our representatives how will explain your itinerary, answer any questions and provide you with a package of vouchers and information about your trip. Transfer to hotel and free time at leisure.

Day 2. PRIVATE TOUR TO POAS VOLCANO & LA PAZ WATERFALLS GARDENS. (B, L)

This is a great tour that you can take from our capital City San Jose Costa Rica. Come with us and enjoy our exclusive and unique tour with a professional naturalist tour guide. Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or Van.

On the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the countryside with multiple Dairy Farms, Tropical Flowers Nurseries, Strawberries Plantations, Cheese Factories, picturesque souvenir stores and small local vendors. Taste the local flavors and give yourself a chance to try a Prestiño, a very traditional tin pastry cover with a special typical syrup made in the sugar mills.

Once at Poas Volcano National Park, the visit to the crater will be in small groups accompanied with a park ranger and for only 30 minutes per group for security reasons. Poas is an active volcano, that has erupted 40 times since 1828. It has an elevation of 2.708 meter above sea level (8.885 feet). There are two crater lakes near the summit. The northern lake is known as the Laguna Caliente (“hot lagoon”) and is located at a height of 2,300 m in a crater approximately 1.7 km wide and 290–300 m deep. It is one of the world’s most acidic lakes and possible the largest crater in the world. Lake Botos, the southern lake, fills an inactive crater, which last erupted in 7500 BC. It is cold and clear and is surrounded by a cloud forest within the National Park boundaries.

Poas Volcano National Park is the most visited one by locals and international tourist from all over the world.

Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfalls Gardens. La Paz Waterfall Gardens is the #1 Most Visited Privately Owned Ecological Attraction in Costa Rica featuring the best hiking near San José, the most famous waterfalls in Costa Rica, rescued wildlife preserve with over 100 species of animals, and an environmental education program.

With the fine attention and explanations of our naturalist tour guide, enjoy: Five waterfalls, cloud forest and rain forest, safe hiking trails, aviary with numerous species of birds, toucan feeding, insect exhibit, butterfly observatory, capuchin (white-faced) monkeys, black-handed spider monkeys, hummingbird garden with 26 documented species, hummingbird hand feeding in the mornings and afternoons, serpentarium (snake exhibit), jaguars, pumas, ocelots, margays, traditional typical  house with petting zoo and ox cart, ranarium (frog exhibit), orchid exhibit, heliconia exhibit.  All these offered at one place, makes us the best eco park in Costa Rica.

Our tour includes a delicious Lunch. It includes multiple selections of Traditional Costa Rican Dishes.

After finishing all these unique Eco Attractions, and by the middle of the afternoon, return to your hotel in San Jose.

Day 3. PRIVATE TOUR TO ARENAL VOLCANO HANGING BRIDGES & BALDI HOT SPRINGS. (B, L)

Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel and a relaxing private drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation and recent model deluxe vehicle or minibus. Your guide will point out many sights of interest including coffee plantations, sugar cane and citrus plantations, diverse fruit stands and rural farming communities. You will be heading Fortuna Town, about 2 hours’ drive from San Jose. Upon arrival to the beautiful property of Mistico Park, you will have some free time for use restrooms and explore the surroundings before to start the nature walk into the rainforest and enjoy the Arenal Volcano Hanging Bridges.

Located in the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a National Park that attracts thousands and thousands of tourists due to its beauty and recent past volcanic activity. Back in the 80´s the volcano was very active, but now has reduced its activity and we could say that it has entered a period of calm. However, the beauty of the Volcano and surroundings are just spectacular. Once in La Fortuna Town, a sightseeing tour will show you the highlights of the area and its rich diversity of tourist attractions, ecosystems, the lake, culture, customs & traditions of this emblematic town of Costa Rica.

At Mistico Park and Hanging Bridges, enjoy travelling the forest comfortably in our revitalizing paths full of nature and wildlife. In front of the majestic Arenal Volcano you can admire its beauty and the wonderful forest that surrounds it, as well as a reserve populated with wildlife in their natural habitat that will allow you an encounter with the roots of the human species. Walk across 10 regular bridges and 6 Hanging Bridges and gaze at a 18 meters (60 feet) waterfall within a comfortable non-slippery trail without steps and acquire a once in a life time bracing adventure.

Later, you will relax in one of the best thermal water places in the area: Baldi Hot Springs. At Baldi Hot Springs you will find an endless dreamed stay, where the natural environment, colorful natural gardens, therapeutic waters, pure air and our care combine on a perfect state; the dream came true. The unique frame where your experience turns into the most unforgettable one. In here you will enjoy multiple thermal pools, a giant stem room, luxury pool bars, Giant waterslides, relaxing areas and much more.

Upon arrival to Baldi Hot Springs, enjoy a delicious Buffet Lunch before to jump into the Thermal Pools. Lockers and Towels are included in our tours. At this paradise you will stay till 4:00 PM, them, we will begin our return trip to the city of San Jose.

Day 4. PRIVATE TOUR TO TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK. (B, L)

Enjoy a true ecological adventure in one of the most beautiful National Parks in Costa Rica. Leaving early from San Jose, enjoy the journey through the beautiful Braulio Carrillo National Park in route to Guápiles and later to La Pavona, a beautiful dock located right next to the La Suerte River that communicates with the Tortuguero Canals.

Board our covered and comfortable boat for a 60-minute tour along the Tortuguero Canals. Your guide will explain the rainforest ecosystem and point out the places of greatest interest. Be on the lookout for wildlife, including howler monkeys, sloths, toucans, waterfowl, bats, and crocodiles, as well as abundant vegetation.

Upon arrival in the town of Tortuguero, we will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful Caribbean region. As a first activity we will visit Cerro Tortuguero.

Cerro Tortuguero has an area of ​​approximately 25 hectares and is the highest point on the entire Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, offering spectacular panoramic views of the forest and the dynamics of canals. In addition, it becomes a micro habitat and refuge for a large number of animal and plant species.

The Cerro Tortuguero sector is located on the border with the Tortuguero National Park and just 10 minutes from the community of Barra de Tortuguero, so the visitation is directly related to that of this famous ecological destination in Costa Rica, despite the fact that It should be clear that it belongs to the Barra del Colorado National Wildlife Refuge.

This characteristic means that Cerro Tortuguero can offer, in addition to its spectacular views and impressive nature, an experience of Caribbean coexistence in the community of San Francisco, which is located at the foot of Cerro Tortuguero.

After visiting this impressive place, we will visit the lush tropical jungle and visit Caño Palma, where you can enjoy the dense vegetation of this wonderful national park and if nature allows us, observe its rich wildlife.

Once these activities are carried out, our next stop will be the Town of Tortuguero, with its picturesque Caribbean atmosphere and beautiful colorful houses and shops that invite the visitor to spend a pleasant moment in their community. Here you will find many and different gastronomic options that we will leave to your total discretion so that you can choose the place of your preference. After lunch we will visit the new and modern facilities of the National Park, which have a beautiful viewpoint of the lagoon and the forest.

Also, if time permits, we will visit the Turtle Museum, which is an ideal place for lovers of turtles and those who wish to learn more about this animal so popular in Costa Rica. It is located at the John H. Pipps Biological Station of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation (CCC) in Tortuguero.

The Turtle Museum aims to educate the population on all aspects related to the different species of turtles that come to our country and as an endangered species, in addition to the flora and fauna of Tortuguero. The museum also has information on the turtle spawning cycle.

It is a natural museum to be able to know first-hand different species of turtles that inhabit different parts of Costa Rica and that arrive throughout the year. It is a place where it is remembered that we are facing an endangered species and as such it must be taken care of in a remarkable way.

In the middle of the afternoon, we will board our boat again that will transfer us back to La Pavona and where the bus awaits us to return to San Jose.

Day 5. TORTUGA ISLAND FULL DAY TOUR. (B, L)

The day begins at your hotel where you will be greeted by a bilingual guide and seated on an air-conditioned bus. The bus ride takes you to the pacific port of Puntarenas stopping along the way for Costa Rican typical breakfast. This is an excellent opportunity to view the coffee, sugar plantations, volcanic mountains and the unique Brahman cattle that form an ever-changing panorama.

Located 12 nautical miles from Puntarenas, Isla Tortuga (called “Tolinga” by the natives) is a sanctuary of white sand beaches and turquoise waters that houses marine birds, flora and fauna, typical of Costa Rican Central Pacific area.

With an extension of 120 hectares, it maintains a protected forest awarded with the Ecological Blue Flag; distinction that is delivered to beaches in our country that have free of pollution waters.
